Kaiser Jeep M725 Ambulance

This ambulance is based on the Kaiser Jeep M715 and is mechanically identical. Both vehicles owe their mechanical lineage to the Jeep Gladiator pickup truck. Designed as a cheaper alternative to the Dodge M37 and Dodge M43, the M700 series of Kaiser Jeep vehicles struggled structurally and mechanically when fully loaded due to an increased rating of 1 ¼ ton rather than the ¾ ton of its predecessors.

The M725 Is powered by the same six-cylinder, 230 cubic inch overhead cam engine which produces approximately 132 horsepower. Due to seemingly insurmountable mechanical issues, the Kaiser Jeep line of 1 ¼ ton trucks had a brief three-year service life, though they would hang around unofficially for close to seven total years. These are overall good civilian trucks, but they could not keep up in the grander scheme of military use and abuse.
